We offer two routes as a Trust
- Potteries Educational Trust School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) working alongside TeachFirst
- Teacher Degree Apprenticeship (TDA working alongside Staffordshire University)
Potteries Educational Trust School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) working alongside TeachFirst
- This is a school-based placement with the majority of time spent in a high school (Most Monday – Thursday)
- Sheffield Hallum University support the PGCE element with potential for 60 Masters Level Credits. 4 full day sessions delivered online.
- Intensive Training and Practice weeks ran by school experts (2 weeks in September, 1 week January and 1 week Easter) During these weeks your training is delivered across the Potteries Educational Trust Academies.
- School Subject Mentor and a Lead Mentor allocated
- Broader School experience for 6 weeks to look at different provisions other than the main placement school.

- Interview Process
- Once you have applied via the DfE website you will have an email inviting you to a pre-interview online with a member of the SCITT team
- Once completed you will be invited to a face-to-face interview. Documents will be provided in advance for you to complete (Subject Knowledge Audit Form, Subject Knowledge Assessment and a topic to deliver a 10-minute task to a group of students, you also receive the interview questions in advance)

Teacher Degree Apprenticeship (TDA) working alongside Staffordshire University
- Gain the vital skills and knowledge you need to become a qualified teacher while being employed in our school.
- Gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) as a Teacher of Maths
- The Teacher Degree Apprenticeship offers a unique blend of practical experience and academic learning. You’ll engage in extensive on-the-job teaching while dedicating approximately 40% over the four years to your personal learning and development.
- Subject Mentor and Lead Mentor in School
- University Lecture and support to achieve BA (Hons) Secondary Mathematics Teacher Degree Apprenticeship
