Through consultation with students, parents, staff, governors and local employers, we have worked carefully to design a future-focused curriculum that is innovative, relevant and rooted in the real world. At Biddulph High School, we believe education should do more than prepare students for exams — it should prepare them for life.
Every young person is different. They have different strengths, interests and ambitions. That is why our myFUTURE 14–19 curriculum has been designed to support every learner to discover their potential and confidently shape their future.
Developed in close partnership with our community and local employers, the curriculum helps students understand how what they learn in school connects to future pathways, further study and careers. It places real-world skills, experiences and aspiration at the heart of learning from Year 9 through to post-16.
At the centre of the myFUTURE curriculum is our Gateway model. Gateways help students make informed, confident choices about their subjects without limiting future opportunities. Whether a student is motivated by academic study, practical learning, creativity, technology or working with people, our Gateways show how subjects link together and lead to a wide range of future possibilities.
Choosing a Gateway is not about deciding on a single career. It is about developing the skills, confidence and understanding needed to succeed — whatever the future holds.
Through the MyFuture curriculum, we want our students to:
- Be ambitious about their future
- Understand the skills and qualifications they need to achieve their goals
- Feel confident articulating their choices, aspirations and next steps
Our aim is simple: to ensure every student leaves Biddulph High School prepared, confident and ready to thrive in education, employment and life beyond school.
